ABOUT THE PROJECT

The Project “Developing Sustainable Energy Use in Montenegro”, is being implemented since April 2015 and planned duration is two years. The financing is provided by the European Union through IPA 2011 funds, and the beneficiary is the Ministry of Economy of Montenegro. The objective of the Project is to contribute to continuation of the energy reforms in the country and further harmonization of national and the European Union’s legislation in the energy field. Thus, Project activities are focused on development and enforcement of relevant regulatory framework in order to increase sustainable energy use, with a focus on the transport sector. Besides, numerous activities are dedicated to elaboration of studies on sustainable use of energy, on cogeneration, improvements in energy statistics as well as improvements of the information system on energy efficiency. Raising public awareness and knowledge level, as well as strengthening of institutional capacity in the country are also components of the project.

PARTNERS

The Project is implemented by a consortium consisted of “European Profiles SA” (Greece) and „EPTISA” (Spain).

European Profiles SA was founded in 1991, with the main objective to provide technical assistance to governments and public organizations within cooperation programs financed by national and international donors, such as the European Union and the World Bank. Since then, the company has achieved international recognition with active presence in 50 countries, including Europe, Africa, Asia, Latin America and the Caribbean, and has established close working relations with development agencies, universities, research centers and civil society organizations in these markets. The company’s headquarters are in Athens, with permanent offices in Kiev, Moscow and Bucharest.

Founded in Spain in 1956, EPTISA is an international consulting, engineering, architecture, and information technology company, devoted to provision of reliable services in fields of Transport Infrastructure, Water and Environmental Protection, Building and Architecture, Energy, Health, GIS and Information Technologies, Socioeconomic Development and Public Administration Reform.
