One of the awareness-raising measures is also the „Energy Tour“ campaign, which aims at visiting all 162 Montenegrin elementary schools during the project period and at familiarizing the pupils with the term of energy efficiency in a direct way.

The „Energy Tour“ implies the familiarizing of pupils in the final classes of elementary school with the topic of energy efficiency and expanding their knowledge in the area of climate change and renewable energy sources. The measures are envisaged as a school campaign, which was designed with the goal to thematically complement the content of regular classes. The vocationally trained team of teachers has visited all individual departments of the final classes of elementary schools, treating these very essential topics during 90-minute lessons. The methodological approach is quite practical and is based on experiments, particularly designed for this kind of lessons. Integral part of the lessons is a short educational film, which aims at attracting the attention of pupils and awaking their interest in the topics of energy efficiency and climate change. All pupils receive a workbook as indispensable teaching material that can be used later by regular teachers for complementing and deepening the knowledge from these areas.

Integral part of the concept of the campaign is also a survey, which aims at establishing the level of knowledge of the pupils before and after the training, and at measuring the performance of the campaign in the sense of raising the level of knowledge of the pupils in these areas.

The project has been implemented since October 2010 in cooperation with the Ministry of Education and Science, the Ministry of Economy of Montenegro and with support of the Norwegian Royal Ministry of Foreign Affairs within the co-financing program of the GIZ ASE project.
