On 5 December 2024, The Minister of Health Vojislav Simun, on behalf of the Ministry of Health, signed a contract with the company Roaming Montenegro from Niksic for “Performance of works in the Health Center Herceg Novi and the Health Center Bar”, worth almost 1.25 million euros. Minister of Energy Sasa Mujovic attended the signing of the contract, which is implemented as part of the “Montenegro Energy Efficiency Project – second phase” project.
After the signing, Mr. Mujovic pointed out that a very successful project, which started in 2018 with the International Bank for Reconstruction and Development, focused on improving energy efficiency in public buildings in Montenegro, was continued.
“Under this project, 38 public buildings were improved in terms of energy efficiency, and the benefits are multiple. First and foremost is the energy efficiency improvement and the reduction of the use of energy sources, which is at the level of 35 percent. Through the reduction of consumption, financial savings are achieved, which are again directed to the state budget and we have new funds for some new projects for energy efficiency improvement”, said minister Mujovic.
He also announced the start of a new project in cooperation with the International Bank for Reconstruction and Development, under which the concept of the project, which proved to be of high quality and sustainable, will be retained, and the focus will be on improving energy efficiency in the buildings of the University of Montenegro and other administrative facilities of Montenegro.
Minister Simun stated that the Ministry of Health and the Ministry of Energy successfully continued the implementation of the “Montenegro Energy Efficiency Project (MEEP)”. The objective of the project, among other things, is to refurbish health institutions and thus improve energy efficiency, but also to provide better working conditions and comfort for both employees and patients.
“So far, 29 health institutions have been refurbished under this project, with a total value of 12.2 million euros. Today we signed a contract with the company Roaming Montenegro from Niksic, for the performance of works on the improvement of energy efficiency in the Health Center Herceg Novi and the Health Center Bar in the value of 1.25 million euros. The contract relates to the performance of works on the replacement of facade locks, the installation of thermal insulation of the roof surfaces, the installation of a solar system for heating sanitary hot water, the replacement and improvement of the lighting and heating system”, said Minister Simun and emphasized that all after signing of the contract all health institutions, which were envisaged under the MEEP 2 project, were adapted, which, through the cooperation of state institutions, rounded off a high-quality process to the satisfaction of all citizens of Montenegro.
